Fuel Efficiency

If you are trying to make your vehicle more fuel efficient, then there are several different things that you need to consider in order for you to be able to do it as proficiently as you possibly can. Even the smallest change you make to your vehicle can make a big different to your fuel consumption, and you will be helping to counteract the effects of global warming in the process. You will also be spending less money on fuel in the long run by doing this.

One of the worst things you can do to your fuel efficiency is to speed. Short bursts of fast speeds use a lot of fuel at once, so it is far more efficient to stay at a similar speed for the duration of the journey, or as close as you can get it. This will make it cheaper to fuel your vehicle, and it will also mean that you stay within speeding limits more frequently, so you will be benefiting everyone.

Another aspect of a vehicle that can easily have a detrimental effect on your fuel efficiency is the weight of the vehicle. If it is unnecessarily heavy, then it would be best to modify and change it so that it is lighter, either by changing actual parts or removing things from it, such as rubbish or other unnecessary items. It takes more energy and therefore more fuel to move a heavier vehicle, so by making yours as light as you can, you will be more fuel efficient.
